Wootton St George started life as the Sywell Soccer School run by Archie Grant. From these beginnings Sywell F.C. came about in 1997 with one team competing in the Northants 92 league. The club grew and more teams were created and by the time season 2003/2003 came around we had 4 teams competing in the Weetabix , Northants 92 and John Henry leagues.

During the last couple of seasons the small sided teams used Wootton as it's base as Sywell had only one junior pitch and no changing facilities. From the beginning of the season 2003/2004 the club adopted the new name of Wootton St George and in August 2003 moved permanently to Wootton in Northampton, where 2 pitches a mini-soccer pitch, clubhouse and changing facilities now are. We plan to continue to grow and provide an opportunity for young footballers to join a forward looking club and of course have some fun and success along the way.
